We founded Della Parola over a decade ago on the belief that practical industry experience, combined with the application of academic research when analyzing and forecasting equity environments, would create a unique investment approach.
At the core of our approach we use statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to identify factors that influence market fluctuations and investor behaviors. We believe knowing how these factors have historically affected the risk environment is critical in positioning portfolios for long-term appreciation.
Our Founder
Dr. David A. Mascio, is the Founder of Della Parola. His main responsibilities include the firm’s strategic positioning, oversight of the firm’s ongoing investment research, oversight of it’s investment policy and execution, and asset generation. Dr. Mascio currently also conducts research at the University of Florida.
He is the former Chair of the Roland George Investment Program and a Professor of Applied Investments at Stetson University and former Adjunct Professor of Finance at Colorado State University’s College of Business, and the Managing Director of the Inaugural Global Investment Summit at Colorado State University. He also served as the Faculty Mentor for a team of Master’s Students, which he guided to the North American finals of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Global Investment Challenge. Prior to his academic career he was the Chief Investment Officer and head of investment policy for First Western Trust Bank Northern Colorado.
The primary focus of Dr. Mascio’s professional career has been advising, lecturing, and managing financial assets in areas related to investment management, private equity, macroeconomic and microeconomic forecasting, financial modeling, portfolio analysis, portfolio hedging models, and financial derivatives strategies. He has served highly affluent families, private family offices, foundations, charitable organizations, pension plans, and institutions for over 20 years. Dr. Mascio earned a B.A. in Economics and Business Management from the
University of New Mexico, where his studies were financed by an athletic scholarship. He earned an MBA from the University of Liverpool (United Kingdom) and a PhD in Finance from EDHEC Risk Institute (Nice, France).
He is an accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS), and a member of the CFA Institute and CFA society of Orlando. Dr. Mascio has been published in top academic journals in the areas of machine learning,
macroeconomic modeling, and investment forecasting.
